Labrador Retrievers are intelligent, amiable, gregarious dogs that love a work. They're trainable & friendly. They prefer to sit still, yet they enjoy playing games when allowed.
Golden Retrievers, another gun dog breed, adore people & cuddles. (& food!) Despite their size, they're considerate of the vulnerable & have large, soppy smiles.
Poodles were also gundogs! Their robust, waterproof coat was bred in Germany to retrieve ducks. They're friendly, smart, & non-shedders, so allergy sufferers can safely interact with them.
The adorable Bichon Frise is a popular therapy dog. They're friendly, don't shed, & play without being crazy. Their lengthy coats are also quite touchable.
The American Kennel Club calls the Cavalier "one of dogdom's noblemen," & we agree! Cavaliers love people, especially children!
