Recipe of Peanut Butter Haystacks

+ + +

This peanut butter haystacks dish combines peanut butter, butterscotch chips, & chow mein noodles.

+ + +

These ingredients, along with whole peanuts, are all you need to make Susan Olayinka's recipe in minutes.

+ + +

Olayinka loves peanut butter & butterscotch chips. "Classic flavours go nicely together.

+ + +

Chow mein noodles give crispness." Haystacks are no-bake cookies that just need to be refrigerated briefly, making the preparation easy.

+ + +

If you appreciate "strong peanut butter & butterscotch flavour" & a crunchier cookie, these haystacks are for you.

+ + +

These haystack cookies only require chow mein noodles, butterscotch chips, peanut butter, & peanuts.

+ + +

Olayinka suggests using alternative nuts or omitting them completely. "You can also use cereal instead of chow mein noodles."

+ + +

You can also use chocolate chips instead of butterscotch chips or peanut butter chips to get that flavour.

+ + +

Break the chow mein noodles into bite-sized pieces, adds Olayinka. "Otherwise, they'll be hard to eat," she says.

+ + +

Next, combine the peanut butter & butterscotch chips. Then, heat water in a saucepan & lay the glass bowl over it to make a double-boiler.

+ + +

Peanut butter & butterscotch chips should melt in 3 minutes. Olayinka says using a glass dish prevents scorching.

+ + +

After melting the peanut butter & butterscotch chips, add the chow mein noodles & peanuts. Mix everything together, then spoon onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

+ + +

Adding sprinkles to your cookies is optional. Sprinkles should be added on sticky haystacks.

+ + +

Olayinka says to refrigerate the baking sheet for 10 minutes to firm up the haystacks.

+ + +

Once the haystacks are solid, serve them immediately. Olayinka proposes haystacks as a snack or dessert. "They're good anytime."

+ + +

You may enjoy these haystacks for weeks because they preserve nicely. According to Olayinka, haystacks can be refrigerated for 2 weeks.

+ + +

Shred chow mein noodles. Next, boil water. Peanut butter & butterscotch chips in a glass bowl over boiling water.

+ + +

Melt ingredients for 3 minutes. Once melted, add the chow mein noodles & peanuts.

+ + +

Spoon batter onto a parchment-lined baking sheet. Sprinkle. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to stiffen the haystacks. Serve chilled haystacks.
