Delicious Traditional Dishes from Ecuador

The spectacular natural attractions of Ecuador have earned the country international renown. 

The spectacular Amazon jungle, the majestic Andes Mountains, & the world-famous Galapagos Islands are just a few of the highlights. 

However, there is a thriving culinary culture in Ecuador that is mostly unknown. 

The food alone in Ecuador is reason enough to travel there. 

Now that I'm back from my trip to Ecuador, I'm ready to recommend seven dishes that every traveler to this equatorial country should eat because of the robust & original flavors they contain. 

The guinea pigs in their cages are one of the first things you'll notice if you've ever visited a real Andean food market. 

Contrary to popular belief, guinea pigs are not raised as pets in Ecuador; rather, they are considered a delectable Andean specialty. 

My visit to Ecuador was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, so I couldn't pass up the chance to sample a cuisine that is unique to these Andean foothills.
